Sports Massage

A Sports Massage is ideal to treat injuries as well as a preventative treatment dealing with the health of muscle and connective tissue, range of movement, tone, symmetry, balance of muscle and quality of posture.

Soft Tissue Release

These treatments can be used in conjuction with Sports Massage.

An advanced massage technique used in assessing and stretching muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments through active, passive or weight bearing range of movement. Benefits include;
Realignment of muscle fibres that have been stressed due to injury.
Breaking up of adhesions between muscles.
Restoring balance.
Aiding posture.
Mobilisation of joints.

Trigger Point Therapy

These treatments can be used in conjuction with Sports Massage.

Designed to alleviate the source of pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.

A trigger point makes its host muscle shorter and fatter which reduces efficiency; this can lead to pressure on nerves and blood vessels. (a good example would be pressure on the sciatic nerve caused from the piriformis muscle). One of the most important features of trigger points is that they may be embedded in muscles remotely from where the pain is felt (referred pain).

Kinesio Taping

Prices vary depending on time and quantity of Kinesio Tape used.

The Kinesio Taping Method is a definitive rehabilitation technique that is designed to facilitate the body's natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time. One of the unique qualities is that it can be used from initial injury (acute), sub-acute, chronic to rehabilitation.

Swedish Massage

A relaxing full or partial body massage which is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, reducing stress, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Spinal Manipulation & Mobilisation

This treatment can be combined with other treatments.

Using a combination of Mobilisation, Muscle Energy and Manipulation techniques for the pelvis, lumbar and thoracic spine to achieve a joint cavitation that is usually accompanied by the 'cracking' sound.

Acupuncture for Musculoskeletal & Sports Injuries

This treatment can be combined with other treatments.

Acupuncture is one aspect or tool of Oriental Medicine. The theory of acupuncture is that 'Chi', the body's own life engery, flows via twelve bilateral meridians that are all interconnected like an electrical circuit. Pain for example is usually, but not always, a blockage of this energy. 80% of the time the site of pain is the site of the blockage. These are usually musculoskeletal conditions. Applying needles on points around the painful area with one or two distal points will usuallly have a benificial effect upon the pain.

Cupping Therapy

This treatment can be combined with other treatments.

Cupping is the practice of applying a partial vacuum by the means of suction cups in one or several parts of the body. This causes the tissues beneath the cup to swell increasing blood flow which draws impurities and toxins away from nearby tissues and organs towards the surface for elimination. Moving Cupping provides a form of inverse massage therapy by a 'lift & glide' technique releasing adhesions in the superficial fascia and toxins from associated deeper muscle tissue.

Benefits include:
Increases blood circulation.
Removes toxins and inflammatory products.
Increases immunity.
Alleviates pain.
Stimulates the release of endorphins.
Stimulates production of nitric oxide.
Regulates and balances hormones
Stimulates ovulation in women.
Regulates intestinal motility
Dissipates local stagnation of Qi.
Reduces cellulite and water retention
